I deployed a PWA and the Android install prompt would not fire. No error, just silence. The issue: my manifest.json referenced a 192px icon but the actual file was 96px. Android checks the dimensions and silently rejects mismatches. I regenerated both sizes correctly with our Android icon generator and the prompt appeared immediately.
192×192px for the home screen. 512×512px for the splash screen. Both must be actual PNGs at those dimensions — not scaled-up smaller files. Generate your Android icons →
